How many times that I have to jump to increase my vertical leap with a jumping rope?

How many minutes or hours to do to increase my vertical leap with a jumping rope?

That depends on your height, weight, and current state of physcial fitness.
I’m guessing that if you’re really interested in this, you’re probably into a sport like basketball, high jump in track, volleyball or lacrosse… maybe you’re a goalie?idk…. lol. But anyway, you’re probably pretty fit, then.
So, it’s harder for people with heavy muscle mass who are physically fit to develop or improve muscle in many regaurds. But, people with alot of excess fat also have more weight to pull up, so they have it harder in that instance.
You’ll probably have to jump for at least 20 minutes a day for around 2 weeks to devolp the muscles needed for a good vertical leap, or to really see a noticeable difference (multiple inches). In about a week, it will probably seem easier for you to jump as high as you have before, but you will struggle to really get much higher- don’t worry, if you stick to it and eat healthy, you will be much better in no time!
You have to spread out the excersize too… hey, i’m not stopping you from jumping rope for an hour each day, it would be good for you- but it’s very strenuous, and your heart rate could get too high. And you definately have to keep working on it, and continue to jump after your two weeks aswell- in decreased amounts, though. (5-10 mins/day).
Trust me, it works….!

–Forgot… always jump on your toes or the ball of your foot, with your knees bent a little so they’re not locked.
Small jumps, fast rope-swinging. lol. That gives you the most strenthening in your calves and the back of your thighs. :)

What is a good vertical jump workout. I heard Air Alert was good but?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

People say air alert hurts your knees.
I am going into my sophomore season in football playing 4th string receiver behind 3 seniors.
I want to get my vertical jump up by next year so when i play, i would be able to jump higher than 22 inches. (current vertical)

Also i want to get faster. I know you have to sprint to get fast but i want to have an organized workout for speed.

do leg press but instead of pressing, let the weight come down slowly then explode (This simulates jumping) this strengthens the muscles used to jump

as for speed, suicides are a great way to get faster

Is there a low impact vertical jump training program?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

I would like to train to increase my vertical without so much impact on my knees or ankles. This is for basketball. I know that basketball makes a lot of impact on the joints, but I’m fine for that during a game.

BUT during "training", are there effective programs where I can train to increase vertical jump without so much joint impact and wear and tear?

If so which one or what complete list of exercises?

thanks

You could jump around in a pool but honestly, not much. The best thing you can do to limit impact to your joints is find the best exercise so that you get the most out of each impact, thereby limiting the time spent in training.
For that I would say plyometrics. Just make sure you have a good pair of shoes and that you do it on a hard, flat surface.

The problem with squats is most people do them wrong, try to lift too much weight and put undue stress and pressure on their knees and ankles. The proper way to do squats is with your feet angled outward and never let your knees go past your feet. You’ll destroy your knees if you do it wrong with sufficient weight.

There are low impact plyometric exercises, sprinting, jump rope, even jumping jacks, which you should start out with if you’re not ready for box jumping. If you want to increase your vertical the best way is with plyometrics. You can have tree trunks for legs and still have a tiny vertical, you need to do plyometrics to develop explosive power for increasing your vertical.

What is the fastest most effective workout to jump higher and increase your vertical (help)?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

please any workout, stretches, or exercises to increase vertical leap fast?- Thank you.

Do whatever work you can on your hips and lower abs. Be sure that you warm up before beginning your pre-workout stretch. You should always stretch before beginning any workout routine, but not warming up properly before stretching can cause damage to your muscles. Also, give yourself plenty of time to recover after a workout. I know that you wrote about needing to see results in a short period of time but working too hard and not giving yourself enought time to recover will only hurt you in the long-run. Good luck!

How do I learn to dunk if I’m 5’11"?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

I wanna be able to dunk, but right now, without any training to dunk/jump better, I can only touch the top two-thirds of the Net, so depending on my energy, the tips of my fingers are usually around 2-4 inches from brushing the rim.

I know that to be able to dunk, I’ll need to add at least 8-12 inches to my vertical.

How do I do that so that I can eventually be able to dunk?

Are there any techniques I can use while jumping to achieve an even higher vertical?

I am 5’10" and when younger could dunk sometime and sometime not just work on leg strength, but dunking doesn’t make you a good player hit a jumper make a free throw,a good pass be sound with the basic aspects of the game and that will make you a better player

Tennessee and Tahoe Ski Resorts

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Located near Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Ober Gatlinburg is the only ski resort in the state. It is more than just a ski resort, however. It is a complete family vacation spot with an amusement park, indoor ice skating, a bungee tower, an alpine slide, and many other activities and attractions. There is something to please everyone.

With an elevation of 3301 feet, and a vertical drop of 600 feet, Ober Gatlinburg features eight trails: two beginner trails, four intermediate trails, and two advanced trails. There are three lifts, including two quad lifts, one double lift, and one surface lift. The season runs from the middle of December through early March, and night skiing is allowed on all trails except the Grizzly trail.

Rentals are available for both ski equipment and snowboarding equipment. Private and group lessons for skiing and snowboarding are also available through the Smokey Mountain Snow Sport School. You can also easily find food at the many snack bars, food carts, the café, the restaurant, or in the lounge.

You must not miss the longest chair lift ride in the south! You will see awesome views of the Great Smoky Mountains. You will also get a bird’s eye view of some of the slopes, and you can have your picture taken on top of the mountain. If you do not ski, do not worry! You can ride back down the mountain on the chair lift as well. Do not forget the Tramway. The tramway departs from downtown Gatlinburg and takes you to the ski resort and the amusement park.

Even if you do not ski, you can still explore the thrill of flying down a mountain at a high speed or a slow speed if you choose. This is possible with the Alpine Slide. The slide is approximately 1800 feet long, and takes you down a winding wooded slope. You have total control over your speed with the use of a braking device on each sled. Other attractions at the amusement park include the Black Bear Habitat, a bungee jump, a water race, go karts, indoor ice skating, kiddie land, an arcade, miniature golf, a Spider Web Velcro Wall Jump, water rides, and a shooting range.

No matter what type of fun or adventure you are seeking, there is something to satisfy everyone in the family at Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and Amusement Park. This is definitely a trip worth taking, especially if you have younger kids or senior citizens traveling with you.

Tahoe Ski Holidays

If you are planning a ski vacation and there are beginners in your group, or you are a beginner yourself, you should definitely consider Tahoe Donner in Truckee, California for your ski vacation. Since 1971, when construction first began at Tahoe Donner, the area has come to be known as a world class cross country ski center, but beginners are still welcome, and this is one of the better places to learn how to ski.

Located near Tahoe and Truckee, Tahoe Donner provides a family atmosphere, and is very affordable. It features a 601 foot vertical drop, and the highest elevation is 7353 feet. There are approximately 120 acres for skiers to enjoy, with over 13 trails for beginners, intermediate skiers, and expert skiers. The resort features four lifts, with two of the list being surface lifts, and two being chair lifts.

Snowboarders are also welcome at Tahoe Donner. The resort has reasonable lift ticket rates, and there are rentals available. Here, you will also find a variety of ski programs and a ski school. After a full day of skiing, be sure to visit the Lodge Restaurant for a wonderful and relaxing dining experience.

Dog Training Collar Supplements Voice Commands

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

All dogs will need some training as without training, a dog will be a dog and do what dogs typically do. A dog training collar can help reinforce commands and signals and help the dog not only alter its natural behavior but also learn what the owner wants it to do.

Usually a dog training collar will emit a small shock when the person offering the training presses a button on the remote control. When the dog feels the shock, applied usually to the throat, and hears the negative command, chances are they will stop the behavior that resulted in slight pain. Once the dog understands that a firm no means a shock is coming, the dog training collar may not be needed.

If your dog barks a lot a dog training collar can shock the dog everytime the dog barks. Normally the dog will learn pretty quickly that if it barks it will be shocked and will decide that barking is not worth the pain. For those who shy away from shocking their animal, a no-bark dog training collar has been developed that emits a short spray of a lemon scented mist towards the dog’s nose. Its unpleasant odor will remind the dog not to bark, without the electric shock.

Shocks Can Help Guide Your Dog

Some dog owners and professional trainers are using electric dog training collars as part of a training regimen to help the dog learn new tricks, and not just to stay off the furniture and not to jump up on people. Usually if you slap your leg and tell the dog to come, you will probably get a dumb look. If you tell him to come and he gets a slight unpleasant shock, he may listen a little better.

If you are using a radio fence containment system you must make sure it is installed correctly and there is no threat of serious injury to your pet. Keep in mind that once your dog when wearing its dog training collar knows where its boundaries are even if you shut off the power to the underground fence, the dog will be reluctant to cross that line, even at your urging.

You should also keep in mind that a dog training collar is not something the dog needs to wear its entire life. Once their behavior can be changed by the issuance of verbal commands, the collar has done its job.

Providing Internet Connections to Offices – Server Cabinets and Their Uses

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The web is nothing but a series of computers interconnected which serve information upon request, some computers acted as the client and others act as a server.  A server is a computer which for the most part stays on all the time in order to provide the information requested, servers are special computers which hold all the information for web sites and mobile applications to work properly.

Because servers need to stay on all the time, their inner temperature tends to rise so keeping servers in a cool environment is of the utmost importance in order to prolong the life of equipment as well as tool increase its operational efficiency.  The server cabinets played a big role in server efficiency, let’s take a look at the functions and benefits to server cabinets provide:

Easy to access

Server cabinets have been designed in order to hold equipment which for the most part needs to be serviced and upgraded, that being the case the technician needs to be able to access the equipment from different angles.  Server cabinets provide access from the front and rear to make it easy on technicians to access the.  All are cabinets offer access from the top in the case of vertical arrays.

In addition, these types of cabinets are built in such a manner that it will be easy to arrange all the cables coming from and to the server.

Keeping servers at cool temperatures

In most cases the servers are stored one on top of the other which can create a lot of heat, server cabinets offer different options for cooling their hardware that has been stored within it, administrators are able to cool down these machines with the use of fans, air conditioning or liquid cooling.

Reducing carbon footprint of other cooling methods

We live in an age when energy efficiency and the impact of technology in the environment are extremely important therefore a big percentage of server cabinets are being manufactured with liquid cooling alternatives which can decrease the carbon footprint compared to other types of cabinets that relied on other cooling methods such as they use of fans and air conditioning.

Server cabinets for office use

Investing in Office Equipment such as servers that will handle a lot of sensitive information is always important but, even more important is the fact that protecting and keeping this equipment from overheating is just as important, this is the reason why those who value their investment choose to store their computers and servers within the right type of cabinets.  Shelves and cabinets designed for books are completed different from those designed for computers; one of the differences is that those designed for books will often retain heat which can damage sensitive computer sensors.

Having reliable Internet connections and ensuring that servers are working properly requires more than a skilled technician or system administrator it takes the right type of server cabinets which will protect equipment and offer easy access to technicians for upgrades and maintenance.

Homeowner Loans To Add Value To Your Property

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

First time buyers receive a great deal of attention at the current time due to the increasing difficulty of making that first step on the property ladder. It is rarely documented however of the difficulties facing homeowners looking to move up the property ladder which is too becoming increasingly difficult.

Recent research shows that the average upscale from a two to a three bedroom property now stands at £27,100. Those looking to upscale from a three to a four bedroom house face the biggest hike in price at £64,032.

As a result of these differences in price, coupled with the fees involved in moving home, more and more people are looking to use homeowner loans to improve & extend their current home to take the effect of upsizing.

When buying a property, many property developers will look at the potential to improve, modify and extend in order to increase the value. This is also a technique now used by many buyers looking at the potential for home improvement.

It can be difficult enough to buy property, with many considerations that must be taken into account. There are many issues that can reduce property value let alone increase it; however the type of property you buy can dictate your ability to improve it or even make any additions at all.

The type of property that best suits improvement will depend on the nature of work you would like to perform. For example, if you are planning to convert a loft in an extra room then it is important that there is enough room to stand up in.

Sometimes the easiest and cheapest way to increase your home’s value is to invest in an improving, up and coming area using a homeowner loan. Signs that an area’s property market is set to improve can be relatively easy to find. These signs may include looking at particular areas or streets that are already popular with buyers. It is often the case that as particular streets or areas increase in value, buyers are priced out of their preferred location, so move as near to it as they can afford.

The important thing to remember is that there is no guarantee that any improvements made on your property will result in an increase in value. Buyers in different locations will be after different things. It is an important consideration to ensure that you are offering potential buyers what they really want. For example a conservatory may be appealing to some but not to others

A good yardstick is often to consult the local estate agents who much a property would be worth subject to improvements being carried out, such as a new kitchen or a conservatory.

Often it’s the smaller, cheaper improvements that can generally offer higher returns than the more expensive ones. The larger and more expensive jobs such as converting your loft or basement may seem appealing to buyers, however they are often unwilling to pay a premium that meets the expense and effort of carrying it out.

The cost of any home improvement and the likely return will vary hugely on the type of property and the area that it’s located. Very few developments come in under budget with the majority coming in over budget. Quote received from builders can often be on the optimistic side. It is therefore prudent to over budget for works

Below is a rough guide of the costs versus the benefits:

Loft conversions:
Cost: £15,000 to £35,000
Potential value increase: £20,000
Difference: – £5,000
A loft conversion must be done properly in order to increase the value of your home. A very important consideration is that it cannot be classed as a loft conversion unless it meets specific building & planning regulations. Your local council will be able to give advice on what those rules are.

Basement conversion:
Cost: £100,000
Potential value increase: £20,000 to £25,000
Difference: – £77,500
A basement conversion is among the most expensive of home improvements. Recouping the initial outlay when selling the property is very difficult let alone making a profit. In some case it can however be very beneficial when selling the property if used as an extra bedroom.

Extension:
Cost: £30,000 to £50,000
Potential value increase: £20,000 to £25,000
Difference: – £17,500
An extension is fast becoming a popular alternative to moving home in order to upsize. You will usually have to sacrifice garden space which can of course have a negative impact on your home’s value. Before commencing with any planned work it is important to consult your local council as there may be restrictions on the height and proximity to boundary lines of any addition.

Off-Road Parking:
Cost: £1,000
Potential value increase: £5,000
Difference: + £4,000
Again, this work requires consultation with the local authority as the job may involve altering the height of the curb. This can prove to be one of the cheapest and most effective improvements that can be carried out.

Conservatory:
Cost: £10,000 to £15,000
Potential value increase: £12,000 to £19,000
Difference: £3,000

Conservatories may not seem quite as attractive in today’s market as they once would have done to the potential buyer. Adding a conservatory is an expensive exercise and would perhaps be best considered for personal use rather than as a tool to increase the value of the property.
